Coastal haven for family and friends
The Brief
Our talented designers worked collaboratively on this project, which involved creating a luxuriously comfortable family home in an incredible and established coastal location.
The clients – a young couple with a small son and two dogs – requested a two-storey residence for their 660 sqm coastal block, which maximised both the ocean views and our wonderful West Australian light.
Being particularly taken with our Sonoma design, the clients requested a home with soaring ceilings and voluminous spaces. They requested that the main living areas be on the ground floor, with the bedrooms on the upper floor.
With a love of being at home, our clients requested a significant lower-floor entertaining space, with two outdoor living areas – one leading off the front, with north-facing ocean views, and a second leading from the interior to the rear, with recessed sills and stacking doors opening up the space entirely.
The clients asked for a well-equipped kitchen with at least two large fridge freezers, full-height Vintec wine fridge, two ovens, teppanyaki plate, gas cooktop and dishwasher, plus a scullery – all of which would link seamlessly to the outdoor kitchen and living space.
On the upper floor, the clients asked for the master suite to take centre stage, with a balcony and big windows to take in the magnificent ocean views.
